Vale's Birthday Cake

Sorry I had you guys waiting,I finally got these pictures off of the cam.
This was a 7 layer 2 tiered birthday cake,wich included:Lemon/Orange cakes convered in Chocolate Ganache. The pink dots are white chocolate ganache.

Fruit "French" Cake

I just got a bite of this cake because unfortunatly (for me) this cake was sent off to my brother in France,but it was so good,dired fruits and cocoa...love it.

Difficult Choices

Saturday afternoon will be beautiful,Star Wars on TV (and hardly anyone home) next to the fireplace with a cup of warm hot chocolate,BUT what to bake? I'm really thinking hard here and I can't make up my mind on what to bake.

Should it be:

-Doughnuts

-Cinnamon Rolls

-Chocolate Cookies

-Chocolate Bread

-Banana Bread

Someone please help.

My very own Chocolate cake.

Last night I actually took time to measure all the ingredients to make this chocolate cake,and I'm so glad I did because it came out so good!
I'm very proud of myself because this is the first time I write all the amounts and ingredients down and it came out so nice,moist and soft. I'm really happy about the results.

Twisted Cake.

As promised,here is a cake that I decorated yesterday. I used the Wilton Ivory and Black paste food coloring. Although I haven't got my new tools yet and I have some junky tools I'm pretty excited and pretty happy about how this cake came out.

Saturday Night Coziness.

Sorry for being a delinquent blogger,I haven't manage to decorate cakes but this week I will go buy some cakes and then practice!
Anyhow,last night I was so surprised and happy with myself because I made these delish doughnuts and hot chocolate milk,so thick and dark,I'm really proud of myself.
The pictures are bad quality because everyone was eating everything and I had to rush out and grab what I could,but having all the food gone is such a great compliment to the cook so I guess that it's alright.

Clean Cake.

I hope I manage to decorate a cake each week,thats my plan.
This is just a sponge cake covered in Buttercream and I used the Wilton
Paste food coloring,pink,green and then to that green I put some black for the heart.
I used an open star tip to make that border and also to make the heart and I used
the smallest writing tip I had to write M.Q.
My tips and icing bags are actually really junky..yup..Ikea kind of sucks but I'm ordering some stuff from England and I hope it will be here really soon but until then I'll just made do with what I have.

First Fondant Creation.

This is my first try out with Fondant. This is actually also my first home-made fondant and I used a bowl under it.
I was feeling both sweet and spooky that night which explains the lovely roses and the spooky ghosts (or want to be ghosts).

Week-end cake

My three year old nephew is home with us for a week without his parents and so for a little fun (for me) and a little comfort (for him) I decided on making him a train cake.

The cake (homemade) was a chocolate and a white spongecake convered in chocolate ganache (I know I always use chocolate ganache,but seriously,it's the best tasting one). He and my sisters were ecstatic about it.

Purse Birthday Cake

Esy's birthday cake consisted in a lemon cake with chocolate ganache and those few candys you see to give the final shape and look of a purse.

Because she's leaving and I'm going to miss her.

It's a pity I can't see you before you leave but make sure to give it your all over there,also,have loads of fun,don't get yourself into any trouble and most of all...don't miss me too much.
I love you to bits Oz and when you get out of there I'm coming to see you wether you like it or not.After this,I think the next best thing to say is...

Oh yeah,chocolate cake for Grandpa's birthday.

I'm still alive.

I've "neglected" this blog for sometime and it isn't facebook's fautl. No,it's just because my life is boring right now and I have nothing to post except for my new glasses!

 Baking wise: I made the most delicious chocolate cookies I had ever tasted ( I have witnesses) but unfortunately they were eaten before I could have gotten the camera.

 I'll try to post a little more now that it's summer and I have no school excuses. TTFN.
